BioShock 2’s Little Sisters invade Australian aquarium

The idea of living within Rapture sounds like a cool enough idea up until all hell breaks loose and you’ve turned yourself into an Adam addict, right? Unfortunately for Australia, it looks as though Little Sisters are invading one of their local larger aquariums and it’s only a matter of time until their Big Daddy’s show up to protect them.

In what I consider to be a very cool fashion shoot, 2K Games fan, Bianca, has brought their mischievous little icon to the real world in the form of cosplay. While not everyone is a fan of cosplaying, it goes without saying that this shoot is one for the ages. Just make sure you don’t mess with her, I heard her Big Sister is worse than her Daddy, oddly enough. The photos themselves were taken by Chris Pavlich.

On Thin Ice: Skaters’ Costumes Cause Outrage

The couple, who are tipped to win gold at next month’s winter Olympics, wear skin-toned suits with red loin cloths, white body paint and eucalyptus leaves. But experts in Australia say Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin’s movements and body decorations bear no resemblance to that of the Aborigines’ 60,000 year old culture.

“They have got the whole thing wrong,” said Stephen Page, artistic director of the respected indigenous group, the Bangarra Dance Company. Mr Page said the two and half minute routine’s didgeridoo music sounded more like it came from India or Africa.

He added that the body paint looked like “a three-year-old child had drawn it on”. Indigenous leader Bev Manton, of the New South Wales Land Council, said Aboriginal people were rightly sensitive about the appropriation of their cultural heritage. She told the Sydney Morning Herald: “I am offended by the performance and so are our other councillors.”

Domnina and Shabalin have defended their routine, which proved a hit with the crowd at the European championships in Estonia.

“Our coach offered us this music and we decided to try it. We researched it on the internet and got a lot of information,” explained 27-year-old Shabalin. “It wasn’t our purpose that it be especially Australian, just a dance from many thousands of years ago.”

Which Superhero Gets Your Vote For Best Womens Fancy Costumes in 2010

Contestant 1: Superwoman

sexy-halloween-costume-idea-super-girl

Super Girl / Lois Lane (Superwoman) — The first comic to feature a female counterpart to Superman is “Lois Lane – Superwoman,” a story published in Action Comics #60 (May 1943), in which a hospitalized Lois Lane dreams she has gained superpowers thanks to a blood transfusion from the Man of Steel. She begins her own career as Superwoman, complete with copycat costume. Similar stories with Lois Lane acquiring superpowers and adopting the name “Superwoman” periodically appear later. One such story appears in Action Comics #156 (May 1951), in which Lois accidentally gains superpowers, thanks to an invention of Superman’s arch-foe, Lex Luthor. In the story, Lois employs a short blond wig in her crime-fighting identity, giving Superwoman an almost identical look to the later Kara Zor-El version of Supergirl.

Contestant 2: Naytiri from AVATAR

AVATAR MOVIE SYNOPSIS:

“Avatar” is a 2009 film written and directed by highly acclaimed director, James Cameron. He directed popular and highly rated films like Terminator 2, Aliens, True Lies, and the blockbuster film of all time – “Titanic.” “Avatar” movie will be released on December 16, 2009. The movie is all about the indigenous population of Pandora called the Na’vi and the so-called “Avatar” program of the U.S. Armed Forces. The Na’vi’s village happens to be resting on the richest mineral deposit. The U.S. soldiers found a little gray rock which sells 20 million a kilo and because of this, they want to invade Pandora.

Na’vi stands 10 feet tall. They have blue skin and slender bodies. They have tails and white dots on their face and body. They were considered primitive inhabitants by the human but they are more physically capable than humans. According to humans, “they were hard to kill.” U.S. created a genetically-bred human-Na’vi hybrids known as Avatars. They created Avatars because humans are unable to breathe the air on Pandora. Set in 22nd century, U.S. Armed Forces are in search of valuable minerals in Pandora’s forests. Former U.S. Marine Jake Sully was selected to be part of the “Avatar” program. He is a crippled soldier and participating in the “Avatar” program will enable him to walk. He was sent down to Pandora’s jungle as a scout for the soldiers. He meets a Na’vi lady named Neytiri. He fall in love with her.

Contestant 4:

Contestant 5: Batgirl

sexy bat girl costume

She’s the wholesome side to DC comics, she’s the anti-Catwoman and she’s always striving to prove herself in a super hero universe dominated by dudes. Its Batgirl. It has come to my attention that the origins and back story of Batgirl are actually quite unknown so for those of you who would like a bit of an education, hang on cause here we go.

Batgirl was originally conceived because Kane and the publishers at DC were concerned about the rumors of Batman and Robin being gay. Batman was given a counterpart in the character of Bat-Woman back in 1956, Robin’s counterpart was introduce a few years later as Bat-Girl, the kid sister of Bat-Woman. The Batgirl suit has been worn by 4 major characters in the DC universe: Babara Gordon, Helena Bertinelli, Betty Kane and Cassandra Cain. The most popular Batgirl stories involve Barbara Gordon, Commissioner Gordon’s daughter.
